Is a Couples Therapy Intensive Right for Us?
When weekly sessions aren't enough
Weekly therapy can be helpful, but an hour at a time can feel short when you are carrying a lot. Between work, family and a full calendar, many couples never get the room to slow down and go deep.
A couples therapy intensive is a longer, focused block of time, often a half day, a full day, or two days, set away from the usual routine.
How an intensive works
Instead of a series of short visits, we spend several hours working together. That gives us time to understand your pattern, practice new ways of connecting, and build momentum without stopping every 60 minutes. Before we meet, I'll learn about your goals, and afterward we plan next steps so the progress lasts.
Why a destination setting helps
The White Mountains are quiet and beautiful, and being away from home makes it easier to put down the phone, the inbox and the usual roles. Many couples find it easier to be honest, and to feel like partners again, when they are not in the same kitchen where the same argument usually happens.
An intensive may be a good fit if
Your schedules make weekly sessions hard.
You want to make progress quickly.
You are facing a decision or a hard season and want focused help.
You feel stuck and want a reset.
You live outside the area and want to combine therapy with time away.
What an intensive is not
It is not a magic fix, and it is not a replacement for care when someone is in crisis. It works best when both partners are willing to show up. Many couples follow an intensive with a few regular sessions.
Plan yours
