EFT Sex Therapy for Couples

Better sex starts with feeling safe enough to want it.

Most sex advice skips the most important part: the relationship. Techniques and toys can't fix sex that's tangled up with hurt, pressure, or distance. When partners feel disconnected outside the bedroom, desire usually goes quiet inside it.

EFT sex therapy brings together two things I care about deeply. Emotionally Focused Therapy builds emotional safety between you. Sex therapy gives you the knowledge and tools to rebuild your sexual connection on top of it.

Does this sound familiar?

  • One of you wants sex more, and it's become a source of tension

  • Sex feels like a chore, a test, or a fight waiting to happen

  • You avoid touch because it might "lead somewhere"

  • You feel shame, pressure, or numbness around sex

  • Desire disappeared after a baby, a betrayal, or midlife changes

  • You love each other but haven't felt close physically in a long time

How we work together

We start with the cycle. Mismatched desire often turns into a painful dance: one partner pursues and feels rejected, the other avoids and feels pressured. Neither of you is the problem. The pattern is.

Once there's more safety, we focus on sex itself. That can include understanding how desire really works, working through shame, addressing pain or arousal concerns, and building new ways to connect that take the pressure off. I also pay close attention to the body. A stressed, exhausted nervous system can't open to pleasure.

I'm a Certified Sex Therapist (AASECT), trained in EFT, and completing a PhD in Clinical Sexology focused on somatic sex therapy. Sessions are talk therapy only. Nothing physical happens in my office.

What can change

  • Desire that feels like an invitation, not an obligation

  • Being able to talk about sex without it turning into a fight

  • Less shame and more curiosity

  • Physical closeness you both look forward to
