Location: Show Low, AZ — Couples Intensives
Step away from the noise. Come back to each other in the White Mountains.
In-person couples intensives in Show Low, Arizona, for midlife partners who need more than an hour a week.
Why an intensive
Weekly therapy works well for many couples. But when conflict is escalating, a betrayal has just come to light, or you've been stuck for years, an hour at a time can feel like opening the wound and closing it again.
An intensive gives you several focused days together. We have time to slow down, follow your cycle all the way to its roots, and help both nervous systems settle before you go home. Many couples find that the change they hoped for over months begins in days.
Why Show Low
Show Low sits in the pine country of Arizona's White Mountains, a quiet small town away from your usual routines. There are no work emergencies down the hall and no kids knocking on the door. Between sessions, you can walk under the pines, rest, and let what you're learning sink in.
For couples from Phoenix, it's about a three-hour drive into cooler air. Couples from other states can fly into [nearest airport] and make the trip part of the reset.
Who intensives are for
Midlife couples whose conflict has become frightening or constant.
Couples recovering from an affair or disclosure who need a focused start.
Couples living like roommates who want a real turning point.
Partners carrying attachment trauma who need time and pacing that weekly sessions can't offer.
Polyamorous and consensually non-monogamous partners navigating a major transition.
Couples from any state. Because intensives happen in person in Arizona, you don't need to live here.

Planning your stay
I'm happy to share suggestions for quiet places to stay, eat, and walk between sessions.
Is an intensive right for us?
Intensives aren't the right fit when there is active violence or coercive control, or when either partner is in acute crisis. A free ten minute call will help us decide together.
